Assam will insist on quarantine for all passengers coming by air, its Deputy Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma stated at the moment, making it clear that the BJP-led state would chart its personal course within the matter.
“Assam will quarantine passengers coming by flight. Assam is not going to quarantine any crew member even when there’s a layover,” the minister informed NDTV.
The view is divergent from that of the Central authorities, which opened up air journey yesterday. Flights, which had been grounded because the starting of the countrywide lockdown in March, will begin from Could 25.
Immediately Civil Aviation minister Hardeep Puri stated quarantine of passengers on home flights must be handled in a “pragmatic method” and such measures are usually not required for “short-haul flights”.
