Karnataka Chief Minister BS Yediyurappa on Thursday brazenly reprimanded his senior cupboard colleague J C Madhuswamy for allegedly verbally abusing a girl representing a farmers’ organisation, saying the behaviour was “unbecoming of a minister.”

“What he (Madhuswamy) has stated just isn’t proper, I’ll warn him. Nobody can forgive talking to a girl in such an express method. His behaviour is unbecoming of a minister,” BS Yediyurappa stated.

Chatting with reporters, the Chief Minister stated, “I am conscious of the matter, I’ll converse to the lady. I’ll see to it that such incidents do not repeat.”

Mr Madhuswamy on his half has apologised and stated he felt “intimidated.”

The lady is a consultant of Karnataka Raita Sangha and Hasiru Sene in Kolar and the alleged incident occurred on Wednesday throughout an inspection.

The video footage of the incident during which Mr Madhuswamy, who’s minister for Minor irrigation, Regulation and Parliamentary Affairs, is heard asking her to talk her grievance and “to not command”, has been aired by native information channels.

He’s purportedly heard saying he’s a “very dangerous man.”

The minister additionally asks police to take her away as she questions him about encroachment of a lake.

Criticising the minister for his conduct, the Chief of Opposition Siddaramaiah stated BS Yediyurappa ought to make the minister apologise to the lady, and drop him from the ministry.

“I help Siddaramaiah’s demand to drop him (Madhuswamy) from the ministry,” he added.
